The Ultimate Guide to Microbrand Watches 2026

What Exactly Is a Microbrand?

The term microbrand gets thrown around a lot in the watch world, but what does it actually mean?

Generally, a microbrand is a smaller, limited-production watch company with a clear identity and a focused approach to design. They typically rely on established movement makers and suppliers rather than developing everything in-house. The definition can get a little blurry with independent watchmakers and larger independents, but that’s part of what makes the microbrand world so interesting.

With that in mind, we’ve put together our Microbrand Watch Guide 2026, featuring 65 brands worth knowing, from established names to smaller independent makers pushing watch design in unexpected directions and delivering incredible value.
